Publishing makes your knowledge available to your AI agent. This article explains how the publishing process works automatically.

What Publishing Does

When knowledge is published:

  1. Content is uploaded to the AI system
  2. Your agent's knowledge is updated
  3. New information becomes available for calls immediately
  4. Status changes to "Published"

Automatic Publishing

Speako now automatically publishes your knowledge to ensure your AI agent always has the most up-to-date information.

You no longer need to manually click a "Publish" button. Knowledge is automatically published when:

  • You successfully upload a document (PDF, Word, etc.)
  • You successfully import content from a URL
  • You save changes to a text knowledge entry
  • You update your business information, services, or staff details

Publishing Status

You can check the status of any knowledge entry:

  • Configuring / Processing — Content is being extracted or analyzed
  • Published (green) — Content is live on your agent and callers can receive answers based on this knowledge
  • Failed (red) — An error occurred during processing or publishing

Best Practices

  • Review after adding: Since content goes live automatically, always review extracted text from URLs or documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Keep it current: Update your knowledge base whenever your business policies, promotions, or services change.
  • Test your agent: After making significant updates, you can call your agent to test how it uses the new knowledge.
